Goodwood Festival of Speed: Happy birthday Alfa

The Festival of Speed has become so popular now that it hardly needs a featured marque to pull in the punters, but we've got no complaints about the brand honoured on the central display this year.

Few manufacturers encompass the romance, style and heartbreak of motor cars with as much panache as Alfa Romeo. The Italian company celebrates its centenary this year, and surely there is no better venue to hold an automotive birthday party that Goodwood.

Alfa has deposited a very large, blood red stand deposited in the grounds where visitors can see the new Giulietta on static display, but the real attractions can be found thrashing up and down the hill climb and then plinking themselves cool in the paddock.
