Chevrolet Camaro coming to the UK in 2011
Chevrolet will use the Goodwood Festival of Speed to launch the Camaro as an official UK model for 2011.
The retro bruiser has been on sale in the US since 2009, where a much-vaunted appearance as Bumblebee in the Transformer movies helped it to over 200,000 domestic sales.
Chevrolet won't be expecting that kind of volume on these shores of course, but the offer of a full manufacturer warranty should be sufficient to attract a fair few Bruce Springsteen fans to sign on the doted line.
The Camaro will only be available in V8 trim, but the 426bhp 6.2-litre engine is more than capable of muscle car performance – 0-60mph will appear in less than five seconds and it's electronically limited to 155mph.
Final specifications and prices will be announced closer to the Camaro's 2011 launch date.
