Lucky Webber relieved after Valencia smash

Mark Webber confessed that he felt 'lucky' to escape unhurt from the collision that saw his Red Bull car somersault into the air at 200mph during this weekend's European Grand Prix.

The Australian driver had been fighting his way through the field when he ran into the back of Heikki Kovalainen's much slower Lotus on the approach to turn 12 of the Valencia circuit.

In an interview with the BBC Webber said: "I'm happy. I was just having a shower and thinking, 'mate, you're lucky to be in one piece.'

"It was a nasty incident. I was surprised by what happened. I'm a little bit tender here and there, but the car did a great job."
