Vauxhall launches new Astra Sports Tourer

Updated

Vauxhall has officially revealed the new Astra Sports Tourer - the estate version of the manufacturer's well-known hatchback.

The Sports Tourer adds increased practicality to the Astra range by increasing load length and boot space. With the rear seats folded flat the car has a maximum load capacity of 1550 litres - making it more capacious than the estate versions of both the Ford Focus and the Volkswagen Golf.

Vauxhall is also keen to highlight the Sports Tourer's status as a homegrown product. The car's design is the work of a British-led team, the new upper body structure was engineered in Bedfordshire and the Astra estate will be built at the manufacturer's plant in Cheshire.
