Gran Turismo 5 gets new release date and Top Gear test track trailer

The much-anticipated, long delayed Gran Turismo 5 finally got a release date at the annual E3 games conference yesterday - the PS3 title should hit shelves in the US on November 2.

Polyphony, the game's developers, also brought a new trailer with them to the Los Angeles event, previewing the introduction of NASCAR and Top Gear test track to Gran Turismo.

No word on a European launch date yet, but expect it to follow closely behind the American release. The fifth game in the GT series has been in development for years, and has suffered a number of frustrating delays, but with almost 1,000 cars and 70 track configurations it is expected to set the new benchmark for driving simulations.
