Peugeot set the pace at Le Mans

Updated

The Le Mans 24-hour race is swell underway and the Peugeots are looking comfortable at the front.

Peugeot have controlled the first two hours in Le Mans. The works trio have been inexorably reeling off the laps and steadily building up a lead over Audi. After 29 circuits of the course, Franck Montagny in car number 2 is in the lead, with his two team-mates Pedro Lamy and Marc Gene close behind. The French are gaining around two seconds per lap on their German rivals, and the best that Audi can manage for the moment is fifth place.
