Multi-million pound motorcycle centres could be scrapped

A series of motorcycle centres that were built at a cost of £71m could be scrapped after a review of the bike test was ordered by the new transport minister, Mike Penning.

The 66 centres were built so the test could comply with an EU directive that demanded elements of the assessment were carried out at a European standard 50kph – 31.2mph.
