Ford scores a point with Eurovision deal



Ford has won the right to be the exclusive provider of cars for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo.

The 40 cars will be used by the celebrities, artists and organisers in attendance at the 50th Eurovision contest. The cars on display will include the latest in Ford's lineup, such as the S Max, Galaxy, Mondeo, Kuga and Transit bus.
All the vehicles will be painted either white or black, and will carry the Eurovision logo. Norway's 1985 winners would presumably prefer to see it in a somewhat more garish colour, as they recounted a story from the year of their triumph.

''When we won in 1985 Ford gave us invaluable help regarding transportation'' said Hanne Krogh of 1985 winners of Bobbysocks.

''Ingvar Sviggum - who was Managing Director of Ford Norway then - made it possible for us to drive an Escort Cabriolet specially painted in the band's deep pink colour.''
