Thieves attempt to steal rare Merc concept en route to Brooklands

A rare concept car destined for Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands almost never made it after thieves targeted the vehicle's transporter during its cross-channel journey.

The Mercedes-Benz C111 - a futuristic gullwing concept used to showcase new engines in the 1970s - was waiting to board the ferry when the crooks struck.
