Is this the most expensive car ever sold?

A Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic has sold in America for a fee reported to be as much as $40m.

An undisclosed buyer has taken ownership of the 1936 car, which won the prestigious title of best in show at the 2003 Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance.
