AA latest to threaten strike action

Updated

The AA is the latest high-profile transport-related organisation to announce it will be going on strike after talks with company bosses broke down.

The patrolmen are not happy about proposed changes to their pension schemes, and 57 percent of the members of the IDU (Independent Democratic Union) have voted in favour of industrial action as a result.

AA bosses have hit back at the proposed action though, claiming it is premature and only a small majority voted in favour of the action. They also point out that only 87 percent of the union members voted at all.
