Renault Wind takes cheapest hardtop roadster title

Updated

Renault's Wind will be using its price as its biggest weapon in the fight to take sales off the likes of the Mazda MX-5.

The convertible with the silly name and a folding hard top will cost from £15,500 when it heads to the first of its new owners in June, making it more than £3,000 less than the cheapest folding hardtop MX-5.

This bargain-basement price will also see the Twingo-based Wind also undercut the likes of the Mini convertible and the Peugeot 207CC, which start at £16,415 and £17,095 respectively.
