On video: World's quickest GT-R

Updated

US-based tuner, AMS Performance claims that this is the fastest Nissan GT-R in the world over a standing quarter mile.

You hardly need any more of an excuse to watch this video, but if you're a sucker for cold, hard facts and figures the tuned 3.8-litre V6 engine produces around 850bhp on high-octane race fuel or 750bhp on the weaker stuff that flows from a standard US petrol station.

AMS Performance's extensive tuning kit features all the normal upgrades, including custom-made turbochargers, and the company claims it won't compromise the GT-R's usability. That seems a little hard to believe, but there's no doubting the results on the track - the car's standing quarter time is quicker than a Bugatti Veyron.
