To whet our appetite there will be a UK tour in March, introducing the new Doctor, Matt Smith and his assistant, Karen Gillan, to thousands of avid fans. It's an initiative that has been launched by BBC Outreach to help fans in harder to reach communities connect directly with one of the broadcasters most famous shows.
The new pairing will tour the country on a themed bus making five stops at Belfast, Inverness, Sunderland, Salford and Northampton. There will be a premiere of episode one, The Eleventh Hour, at each venue to give fans their first sighting of the new Doctor.
First stop will be Belfast on the 29th March, before the tour bus heads to Inverness, Karen's hometown, on the 30th March. The show will then move south for three quick-fire stops to Sunderland, Salford and Northampton all on the 31st March.
Don't despair if you miss the tour. From the 1st to 3rd April the BBC is presenting a series of events in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Swansea.
Fans will get the chance to view exclusive 3D footage of the new trailer. There will also be giveaways and the chance to have a photo taken of yourself tumbling through the vortex. And look out for guest appearances by some of the Doctor's most infamous enemies. We can't wait!
