On video: Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Updated

Until now we've only really seen the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta stationary on a motor show stand at Geneva, but the manufacturer's latest promotional video reveals that the new hatchback looks just as good on the road.

The Giulietta steps into one of the most closely fought markets in the car industry, but Alfa will hope its good looks, advanced Multiair engines and multi-link suspension will help to make it a match for the class-leading Volkwagen Golf and Ford Focus.

The manufacturer certainly has high hopes for the model; reports suggest Alfa aims to make as many as 100,000 Giuliettas a year when it is finally launched in all markets. Expect this video to be followed by a big marketing push as Alfa intends for the UK launch to coincide with the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June.
