A unique Mercedes SSK replica that was custom built for legendary Rat Pack singer Sammy Davis Junior has gone on sale.

The unique creation was built by a company called Heritage in the USA for Davis Jr in the late eighties, just a few years before his death in 1990 at the age of 64. It was later imported into the UK where it was bought by stand-up comedian Bill Bailey.

The current owner bought the car from Bailey and has owned it for the last nine years or so. It has been cherished, having only covered 25,000 miles from new. The original Mercedes Benz SSK was built between 1928 and 1932, and only 40 were built.
