Panamera convertible on its way?

Porsche is planning a radical four-door convertible version of its Panamera according to reports.

A series of patent applications obtained by Autocar, suggest that the car is on its way despite murmurings from within the Porsche camp that the car had been cancelled altogether.

The Panamera Convertible will keep its four-door body and will need substantial stiffening to ensure it retains its rigidity without a B-pillar – something which can be expensive to develop and could add a considerable amount of weight to the car compared with a traditional two-door convertible.
