Alfa Romeo has already given us a strong indication of what the upcoming Giulietta will look like with a video that proclaimed it to have a big boot.
But now we will get a chance to sample said luggage capacity for real when the Giulietta makes its public debut at the Geneva motor show next week.
Based on an entirely new platform and a replacement for the 147, the Giulietta is Alfa's new five-door hatchback that is aiming to take on the likes of the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf in the lower-medium sector.
It will launch with five engines – a 138bhp and 168bhp 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre 104bhp and 2.0-litre 168bhp diesels will make up the core of the range, completed by a range-topping 232bhp petrol unit.
Fuel consumption figures are not yet available, but it is expected to offer emissions in the region of 124g/km and 134g/km for the more powerful of the basic diesel and petrol engines.
Alfa says the interior borrows some of the styling cues from its gorgeous supercar – the 8C Competizione. Don't get too excited though, it is just the grouping of the control buttons on the dash, but it is better than nothing.
