Hyundai plans cut-price Scirocco rival

Hyundai is planning a £15,000 coupe that it hopes to pitch as a budget alternative to Volkswagen's Scirocco.

Based on the i30 platform, it will take its inspiration from the Veloster concept that Hyundai displayed at the 2007 Seoul motor show.

The new coupe could make it to the UK at the start of next year according to Hyundai managing director Tony Whitehorn, and is intended to be more of a driver's car than the old Hyundai Coupe.
