These are the first official pictures of two new models from Abarth, Fiat's tuning arm. The latest models to get Abarth treatment are the convertible version of Fiat's 500 supermini and the recently launched Punto Evo hatchback.

Under the bonnet of the 500C Abarth sits a 138bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged T-jet petrol engine mated to a six-speed automated manual gear box with paddle shift as standard. The 500C Abarth will be capable of reaching 62mph in 7.9 seconds and go on to a top speed of 127mph.

Meanwhile the Punto Evo Abarth, which will replace the current Grande Punto Abarth, will be powered by a 161bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged Multiair engine. Despite being capable of 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds, it will offer an impressive 47mpg and CO2 emissions of 142g/km. An upgraded 178bhp Essesse version will also be available from launch.
