Only 1 in 1800 Met police officers who set off speed cameras while driving on duty get fined, the country's biggest police force admitted yesterday.

A Freedom of Information request by The Sun revealed that, out of 48,544 speed camera offences involving police vehicles in London last year, only 26 were resulted in an officer being charged.

Nationally, other forces aren't much better. Wiltshire, Merseyside, Gloucestershire, and North Wales recorded 4952 camera offences between with no charges brought at all.
