Nissan is aiming to take on the Mini with its new, cool Juke - a small crossover it says will appeal to a younger audience.

The Juke has been designed to replicate the success of the Qashqai, but within a segment dominated by the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus. To ensure it competes in such a competitive part of the market, Nissan says it's made the Juke fine to drive with sharp handling and a range-topping 187bhp turbocharged petrol engine.

But the Juke has few immediate rivals because of its muscular mini-SUV styling, which marks it apart in a segment dominated by bland family hatchbacks.
