Peugeot reveals Kris Meeke 207

Updated

Peugeot has launched a limited edition 207 to celebrate Kris Meeke's championship victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge last year.

Based on the current 207 Sport, the S16 gets the same 120bhp 1.6-litre VTi petrol engine, but adds a full RC Cup bodykit, 17-inch alloys and an interior badge bearing Meeke's signature.

There's even the option of adding free vinyl rally graphics which mimic those found on the IRC-winning 207 S2000 rally car.

Given the car's muscular new looks, it's slightly disappointing that Peugeot has decided to leave the engine entirely untouched. The 207 S16 takes 10.7secs to get to 60mph, which may be fine for the standard car, but is going to feel rather laboured when you're attempting a Kris Meeke impression on the way home from work.

The S16 will be exclusive though; just 250 examples will be built, each with a price tag of £14,695.
