Now Peugeot and Citroen suffer Toyota recall

Updated

PSA Peugeot Citroen has been forced into recalling nearly 100,000 Peugeot 107s and Citroen C1s that were produced at the facility it shares with Toyota in the Czech Republic.

PSA claims the figure represents 8-10 per cent of the C1s and 107s built at the factory because the faulty accelerator pedal problem only affects cars equipped with the 2-tronic semi-automatic gearbox or those fitted with ESP.

The cars were built alongside the Aygo, one of eight Toyota models that make up the Japanese manufacturer's 1.8m vehicle recall in Europe due to sticking accelerator pedals.
