Carlsson mods Mercedes SL 600

Updated

German tuning company Carlsson has decided the 517bhp Mercedes SL 600 isn't extreme enough, so has made its own version.

Using the SL as a base, Carlsson has boosted the 6.0-litre BiTurbo V12 to 743bhp, enabling the car to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds. The Carlsson also manages a scarcely believable 219mph top speed.

The company has fitted a new ECU and quad-tailpipe stainless-steel exhaust to make the gains, which only goes to show the engine's original potential.
