Brit sports car to take on the Ariel Atom

Updated

A British-built sports car was launched at the Autosport International show that is aiming to go one better than its Ariel Atom and Caterham 7 rivals – where the Atom and the 7 only have two seats, the SDR V-Storm carries three.

SDR managing director designed the car as he wanted to take his two children out with him for a ride, but he wanted the central seating position of a track car.

Despite the extra carrying capacity, the V-Storm doesn't lose out on thrills. It is powered by a 300bhp turbocharged Subaru Impreza engine, and promises acceleration to 60mph just over 3 seconds. The engine is set in the middle of the car, while power is sent to the rear wheels.

The V-Storm is designed to be highly flexible, and customers will be able to add different engine and bodywork options to their car as they become available, meaning they can increase power or wind protection as desired.

Prices start from £23,000 and first customers will recieve their cars within 8-10 weeks.

We can't think of a better way to get two kids to school in a hurry.
