Updated

Nissan has announced that its all-new baby crossover will be called the Juke.

Based on the Qazana crossover concept which debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Nissan has only released this teaser image of the car so far with its official debut on Febuary 10th prior to this years Geneva Motor Show in March.

The company says the Juke has been designed to offer an alternative choice to the traditional small hatchback.

"We know that there are a lot of customers that are looking for a car which combines striking design, agile handling and driving pleasure, user friendly technology but not at the expense of practicality and convenience," said Simon Thomas, Nissan's European Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. "These unique attributes will allow Juke to occupy a unique corner of the European market."

The Juke will be manufactured here in the UK alongside the Note, Qashqai and Qashqai+2 at Nissan's plant in Sunderland.
