2011 Mustang GT to get 5.0-litre V8
It has been confirmed that the Ford Mustang GT will make a return in 2011 equipped with a new potent 5.0-litre V8.
The news was reportedly leaked by an insider via Facebook followed by a post from Inside Line. It is understood new unit will be shared with the Ford F-150, cranking out a massive 412bhp.
It puts the 2011 Mustang alongside other modern-day muscle cars such as the Chevrolet Camaro SS which pumps out around 422bhp and the Dodge Challenger STR8 with 425bhp. Despite being a few horses down on the competition the Mustang is one of the more nimble, which should give it potent performance.
The 2011 model will have a whopping 100bhp more than the current 2010 Mustang GT – the equivalent to putting a mid-range VW Golf diesel under the bonnet.
