Dacia Duster 4x4 launched

This is the new Dacia Duster, the first 4x4 from Renault's budge subsidiary brand.

It will initially go on sale in left hand drive next spring to Europe, Turkey, Algeria and Morocco before being made available in Russia, Brazil and the Gulf states in 2011. Dacia would need to offer a right-hand drive version for it to be considered for sale in the UK.

The Duster will be offered in two and four-wheel drive in Europe with the choice of either a 108bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine or 84bhp and 104bhp DCi diesels. Both diesels emit less than 140g/km with two-wheel drive, qualifying the model for Dacia's 'eco2' status.

The possibility of the Duster coming to the UK is yet to be confirmed; sources at Renault say that only the Sandero and Duster would be potentially viable in the UK as there is no place in the market for the Logan.
