If you're a Beatles fan then you probably don't need to be told about the huge Beatles festival that is a part of the Mathew Street Festival, which takes place in Liverpool in August. The week long celebration features concerts, exhibitions, interviews, autograph sessions, a convention, flea market and lots ot other entertainments. With over 200 bands performing live, this is the biggest Beatles celebration in the world.
The award-winning event has been running now for over 20 years and is so popular that Beatles fans from all over the world flood the city, the hotels are all booked up and the streets are filled with music for 7 days and nights. And it's not just songs by the Beatles that you'll be hearing, the Mathews Street Festival features bands from all over the world covering all kinds of artists such as Queen, Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Who, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dyan, Paul Weller and Madonna. There are also original and contemporary bands and pretty much more music than you could hope for.
What's more, the festival is free and the first night kicks off in the Cavern Pub where the Beatles were first spotted by Brian Epstein in 1961.
