Tesla celebrating and expanding

Updated

Two weeks ago, Tesla supplied their 500th Roadster to a satisfied customer in the USA. This was cause for a small celebration, with thirty of the electrically-powered vehicles parading through the streets in convoy. Towards the end of this month, the first Roadster Sport is due to roll off the assembly line: this is an even more high-powered version that will perform the 0 to 62mph sprint in just four seconds. Deliveries of the Roadster to European customers are due to commence in summer.

During the next few weeks, Tesla Motors will open seven regional sales and service centres, providing them with a comprehensive network throughout North America and Europe. In early August, branch offices will open in New York, Chicago and Seattle, to be closely followed by Miami. Tesla already established a presence in California twelve months ago with flagship stores in the north and the south of the state. The next outposts are planned for Washington DC and Toronto. The first European showroom will open some time this month in London, with further branches planned for Munich and Monaco.
