75 years of the BMW Roadster

Updated

This tidy little sports car from Munich has been scooting around since the year 1934, so BMW can now celebrate its 75th anniversary. The first model was the BMW 315/1, with its long bonnet and flat angled windscreen to provide that certain bit of style. The vehicle was first presented in Berlin in 1934 at the Berlin Motor Show, and featured a six-cylinder engine with 40bhp that could reach a then impressive 75mph. 75 years later, we've speeded up a bit and the BMW Z8 is powered by a V8 engine with 400bhp. The gallery shows an impressive collection of these legendary vehicles.
