Mercedes 300 SL Panamericana from Gullwing

Updated

Early 2010 will see the market launch by AMG of their successor to the winged legend that is the 300 SL. Now US coachbuilders Gullwing are likewise coming out with a new version of the 300 SL, keeping the old shape but investing it with new technology. The 300 SL Panamericana is modelled on a replica SL by German-based Gullwing AG.

The reproduction Panamericana is characterised by its lack of bumpers, its laterally protruding tailpipes and its new grille. By tweaking the valve timing, Gullwing America have boosted the power output from 360 to 370 horsepower. Next year, they intend to offer the vehicle with a Mercedes V6 engine.
