Nissan uses test track as car park

If we didn't all know by now that the automotive industry is going through tough times, then this picture says it all. The photo was taken at Nissan Motor Manufacturing Ltd. It is the largest car plant in the UK and counts as one of the most productive in Europe. The assembly lines are still running, but even Nissan are finding that supply is outstripping demand. The factory car parks are full to capacity, so they are now having to store brand new vehicles on the company test track. Which means, of course, that it can't be used for its intended purpose. But there's little point in testing new cars anyway, if you can't sell the ones you've already made.
