Gumpert Apollo

For the past three years, the Gumpert factory in Altenburg (Thuringia) has been turning out these 'supersports' cars, albeit on a low-volume production run. In a unique experiment, Heinz-Harald Frentzen drove one under competitive conditions in the 'Green Hell' of the Nürburgring.

This car is not for your average family motorist. With a 4,000cc engine generating 650bhp, it is good for a top speed of 220mph. It would certainly get you to the local supermarket a bit faster than usual...
