Honda Insight - Plug and Play

Updated

Following the moderate success of the Civic Hybrid, Honda has turned on its ignition for the next race in the competition for the greenest image in the sector.
While Toyota's Prius sold like hot cakes, the Civic Hybrid did little else than bob up and down in the doldrums.

But all that is set to change with the new Insight. The concept on show in Paris should be pretty much what the series version will look like (as long as you can forget about the typical car show LED makeup).
With the Insight, Honda is promising to be clearly cheaper than its competitor Toyota.

If you ignore the fact that the new streamlining gets pretty close to the current Prius externally - which is probably more of a concession to aerodynamics than it is to the Prius - then the Insight looks thoroughly stylish and dynamic.
Similarities to the FCX Clarity fuel cell image leader are naturally intentional.

If in the end the promise is kept in terms of the price, then the green Honda will certainly relieve the Prius of a few customers, because, with all commitment to the environment, we still like to have an eye for design.
