Watch: Woman ‘pushed down stairs’ in Airbnb dispute

Footage taken on 8 July in Amsterdam shows a woman falling down a flight of stairs after apparently being pushed during an argument with her Airbnb host.

The woman, artist Steve Nkumbi, said the fall resulted in a concussion, swelling to the back of her head, bruises and a black eye.

The footage was filmed by famous South African photographer Zanele Muholi who shared it on social media.

Steve said the altercation began when when she and three colleagues, in town for an art exhibition, were an hour late checking out of the holiday rental. She said they apologised "profusely" but the female landlord returned with a man who told them to "get out" before becoming aggressive.

Local media has reported that a 47-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

Airbnb said it was assisting police in dealing with the "abhorrent" incident.
