Alligator joins golf tournament in South Carolina

It was a beautiful day for golf out near Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

Perhaps thinking the same thing, this giant alligator gave golfers the surprise of a lifetime as he casually strolled down the green.

You can see the huge animal confidently sauntering past stunned golfers at the Osprey Point Course on Kiawah Island.

On the same day, at a different tournament, golfers had more than their backswing to worry about as another gargantuan gator made its way towards competitors.

One witness described it for the Charleston Post & Courier as 'literally a dinosaur.'

These enormous - and terrifying - creatures are pretty commonplace in the south of the USA though, so maybe people weren't as surprised as we would be here in the UK.
