The German airport was ranked first after an analysis of traveller comments, which gave Schönefeld a score of 3.17 out of 5. This was based on reviews from 65,000 eDreams passengers who considered restaurant offerings, waiting areas and shopping facilities at airports around the world.
Schönefeld is located 18km southeast of Berlin and is a base for a number of low-cost airlines including easyJet, Ryanair and Norwegian.
In second place on the list was London Luton Airport, which has been named Britain's worst airport in the past. It was followed by New York LaGuardia Airport and New York J. F. Kennedy Airport.
Two airports in Paris featured in the list of the worst airports in the world, along with Rome's Ciampino International Airport and Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Meanwhile, eDreams named the ten best airports in the world, which saw Helsinki-Vantaa take the crown with a score of 4.30 out of 5, followed by the only UK airport on the top ten list, Glasgow International.
