Weymouth Beach named best in Britain 2017 by TripAdvisor

Weymouth Beach has knocked Woolacombe off the top spot this year to claim the title of Britain's best beach.

TripAdvisor has announced its winners in the Traveller's Choice awards for 2017 and the Dorset beach has impressed the most.

Weymouth has done well on the continent too, winning ninth place in the list of best beaches in Europe.

At just a stroll away from the town's historic harbour, visitors can enjoy plenty of attractions too, ranging from traditional donkey rides to summer firework displays.

Visitors can also take in the stunning views of the Jurassic Coastline.
