One of the rescuers can be heard saying: "We've got a dog harness and we're going to rappell down, put that on and bring her back down to safety."

The dog, named Mary, got stuck on a narrow ledge above a 50-feet cliff

A member of the team rappelled down to try and lure her to safety with food.

The rescue wasn't successful as the dog became skittish every time the rescuer got close.

But the saga had a happy ending when Mary made it down the mountain alone.
