The toilet is the one public place where you can reasonably expect a bit of privacy. Right? Not so at a tourist park in China.

The popular Shiyanhu Ecologic Park, in Changsha, Hunan province, has installed public loos made entirely of glass - walls, floor, and roof included.

The aim appears to be so that people can connect with nature while they're, umm, answering the call of nature.

However, according to the South China Morning Post, it's not meant to be as humiliating as it first appears.

Staff have reportedly promised that the outside of the block will be coated with a one-way mirror to save the dignity of those inside.

Walls dividing different toilets are also made of frosted one-way glass, however this didn't seem to be quite finished if the pictures are anything to go by.

The toilet block is raised off the ground by cement beams and is located next to a hillside temple in the park, which is one of Changsha's most popular picturesque spots.

Responding to online controversy about the loos with a view, park spokesman Mr Wang told the Daily Mail: "We are trying to change the nature of public toilets from being purely functional to having tourism values."

The toilets will be opened to the public on 1 October, which is the first day of the Chinese National Day holiday.
