Seth Freedland was booking a room at the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica for him and his girlfriend Amy to attend a wedding in the area when he decided on the peculiar request as his other half is a huge fan of the star.

Sharing photos of the hotel room on Facebook, he wrote: "When I made my reservation at the Huntley for Stephanie and Andrew's wedding, I was asked if there was anything else they could do to make my stay more comfortable.

"I thought about it, and thought about what might delight the gf, and asked if they might be able to place a few framed photos of Jeff Goldblum in the room.

"I wasn't sure if it would actually happen until we got to the hotel..."

Speaking to InsideEdition.com about the moment he and Amy checked in, Seth said: "Even though I knew the frames would be there, it was still somehow shocking. You can't help but laugh, it's just such a surreal thing to see. And then of course I was just following Amy's reaction, which was everything you could hope for."

Freedland said that when he explained his request to the concierge he expected a surprised reaction but they just responded with "sounds like fun" and asked how many frames he wanted of the Independence Day actor.

When asked why he chose Jeff Goldblum, Seth told the Huffington Post: "Jeff Goldblum is my girlfriend's celebrity crush.

"Specifically, she's a big fan of Independence Day-era heroic Goldblum. I'm more a Big Chill Goldblum man myself, but you really can't go wrong."
