A tourist was left shaken (literally) after an angry elephant flipped his car and rolled it multiples times.

The tourist bibs his horn in an attempt to get the elephant away from his car, however the elephant didn't appear to like that move very much.

According to the The Sun, the incident occurred at the Maputo Game Reserve in Mozambique, and saw the elephant charge at the car with its ears flapping before tossing it in the air and rolling it over several times.

According to the Daily Star, the attack was so violent that a section of the elephant's tusk broke off leaving the man with a reminder of his near-death experience.

The tourist survived the attack, although it is not known exactly what injuries he incurred.

This tourist should take heart, however, as even action man Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted being terrified by a close encounter with an elephant back in June.

In a video shared to YouTube the popular action star and former governor of California captured a large elephant in South Africa racing towards the safari vehicle he was sitting in.

The elephant approached the vehicle, even tapping it with his tusk.

The animal eventually backed away but just when they thought the coast was clear he got a little too close for comfort.

The former politician got candid when describing the terrifying experience, he wrote: "I'm absolutely in awe of these beautiful, strong animals, even though some of us had to change our pants after this. We need to stop killing them - take a photo, not a shot."
