A restaurant at a hotel in Shrewsbury made a rather large printing error on one customer's bill.

They changed the name from Shawcross to 'Shawankers', presumably for an in-house joke.

However, they forgot to change the name before printing off the bill.

And one member of the group shared the clanger on her Facebook page, reports the Bitter Wallet.

According to the Metro, Victoria Whittle wrote on her Facebook page: "That awkward moment when the host forgets that what they called your table is printed on the receipt!

"Then try's to tell you it's a spelling mistake !!! Yes I misspell Shawcrosss like this all the time !! #youarethewankers."

The incident occurred at the Silverton Hotel. Its website says: "The Silverton has one of Shrewsbury's finest restaurants. With an exclusive menu of modern crafted dishes and a fine wine cellar, The Silverton's restaurant is open for breakfasts, lazy lunches, afternoon teas and for evening dining. "

The hotel is highly rated on Tripadvisor, who we're guessing this is a one-off incident.
