The ten best shopping cities in the world

If you're a shopaholic looking to jet off on holiday this year, this new list from Expedia could really help you out.

The online travel company has come up with the definitive top 25 cities for shopping around the world.

The list is based on value for money, visitor numbers and the overall friendliness of the city.

Expedia's research took into account the overall price of a pair of Nike shoes, a pair of Levi's jeans and a trip on public transport to assess the value for money of each destination.

First place in this year's list was taken by New York City, which may not surprise many as the American city is known as a shopping mecca. Around 56.5 million people visited the city in 2014, NYC Go reports.

Only four European cities made it into the top ten cities for shopping, while one other US city made it into the top ten - can you guess which one?
