Geyser erupts and creates 'penis cloud'

This hilarious picture shows the moment a geyser exploded - into the shape of an erect penis.

The geyser, a phenomenon where water and steam explode from a spring, erupted in a spectacular fashion – and tourists couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the phallic-shaped formation.

Photographer Stuart Mccallay, from Scotland, captured the cocky geyser on camera when he was on holiday in Geysir, Iceland.

Stuart, 35, said: "I was on a wee road trip taking in the awesome sights around Iceland, and I was really keen to see the Strokkur geyser.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the camera screen.

"It was a proper laugh out loud moment!"

The Strokkur geyser, one of Iceland's most famous, is located to the east of Reykjavik and erupts every eight to 10 minutes – often squirting out jets up to 40 metres high.

There are over a thousand geysers worldwide and they are generally found near active volcanic areas, forming due to special hydrogeological conditions – making them a fairly rare phenomenon.
