Firefighters tackle blaze at celebrity nightclub in London



A fire broke out at A-list nightclub Cirque Le Soir in London, forcing more than 50 firefighters to tackle the blaze.

The firefighters were sent to the scene at 4.55am on Saturday to contain the fire which is believed to have started in the basement and on the dance floor of the themed club on Ganton Street, Soho.

According to the Independent, the fire spread to nearby offices and a restaurant.

London Fire Brigade said that eight fire engines and more than 50 firefighters tackled the fire.

Station manager Nic Myatt told the BBC: "No-one was inside at the time and there were no injuries."

An investigation has been launched to identify the cause of the blaze.

Cara Delevingne, Nicole Scherzinger and Rihanna are some of the celebrities who have partied at the circus-themed venue.

On its website, Cirque Le Soir says it is "one of the most successful and most talked about clubs in the world".

It adds: "Guests are treated to a thrilling assault on the senses from every angle, including dwarves, magicians, clowns, sword-swallowers, fire-eaters, burlesque angle grinders to snake charmers, contortionists and stilt walkers among a host of weird and wonderful entertainment."
