Airbnb Offers A Halloween Night Stay In The Paris Catacombs



Fancy doing something spooky this Halloween? Why not scare yourself witless by spending a night in the Catacombs, the spooky skull-ridden tunnels that run under the streets of Paris?

Around six million people are buried in the Paris Catacombs and the skeletons of many of them remain there to this day, tightly packed and stacked high.

Although tourists are welcome to discover the mysteries of the tunnels during normal operating hours, there has never been an opportunity to spend the night there... until now.

Airbnb is thought to have paid around $400,000 to gain overnight access and they're holding a competition to see which lucky pair gets to spend the night there.

According to the company a real bed will be made available and the lucky guests will also get food and be provided with entertainment.

On their website Airbnb say: "Before bedtime, a storyteller will have you spellbound with fascinating tales from the catacombs, guaranteed to produce nightmares. Finally, enjoy dawn with the dead, as you become the only living person ever to wake up in the Paris catacombs."
