Guests at a Scottish holiday park were evacuated yesterday (Wednesday) after an army bomb disposal team was called to investigate a suspicious device.

Bomb disposal officers spent the night at Pine Lodges, Logierait, near Pitlochry, where 17 people were evacuated from the site and taken to a local hotel.

A man was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary by ambulance and was treated for a head injury, but his condition is not thought to be serious, reports the Courier.

According to BBC, officers discovered the device after they responded to a routine call at about 5pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "While attending a routine incident in the Logierait area of Pitlochry, officers became aware of a suspicious package within a property.

"Specialist resources assessed the package and took appropriate action.

"There was no danger to the public."

The bomb disposal experts have now left the scene.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, reports the Herald Scotland.
